Donations made in 2024 have helped the following charities:
Thank you so much for the donation you made to Portesbery School for equipment in Maple class. I am a teacher at Portesbery and over the Easter holiday my classroom was fitted with blackout blinds funded by your charity. The students in my class have CVI, which means they have a visual impairment caused by the way their brains process the information received, rather than a structural issue with their eyes. This means their vision cannot be improved by wearing glasses. Since having the blackout blinds fitted the students have had daily access to visual stimulation exercises, which help them to maximise the use of their sight. Without leaving the classroom they can use lights to explore colours, track movement and focus on glowing objects. In addition to stimulating their vision the use of blackout blinds is also supporting their education. We have noticed that closing the blackout blinds removes the visual clutter from the room, enabling the students to focus on the backlit whiteboard during lessons. It is amazing how the blackout blinds help everyone in class to concentrate. |
On behalf of The Source Team, I would like to say a huge thank you very much! Your kind, continued support goes a long way towards helping us with our work and we very much appreciate your gift. |
What wonderful news of your intended donation in support our charity’s work, we are truly grateful to Mytchett Ministries, and on behalf of our Surrey clients, a heartfelt thank you. |
